A tablet-based software will make it easier for pilots flying through difficult terrain when charting out their flight routes, supply of which is being discussed with the Indian air Force and Armed Force. (The above picture is copyright of GarryRidsdale.com.)
UK-based Inzpire has produced and developed the GECO software, which can be hosted on a range of powerful tablet devices. GECO provides next generation capability for pilots; improving flight safety, enhancing performance, unlocking capability and increasing awareness.
GECO is a full touchscreen solution, easily operated with a gloved hand and can be hand-held, knee-mounted or platform-mounted and has the capability of acting as an additional cockpit display.
The flexibility of Inzpire’s system means that it can be incorporated at a fraction of the cost and far more rapidly than traditional aircraft software and hardware upgrades.
“This is designed to improve situation in flight and increase safety for pilots,” said Alex Mitchell, Head of Sales for the Far East markets at Inzpire.
“We plan to introduce this to the Indian Air Force among others. Discussions have been held with the Indian Air Force and Armed Force who are very keen to use the tablet-based platform for their helicopters and fast jets,” he said.
“We are also keen to work with Indian partners and develop software solutions for India,” he elaborated.
The tablets are being used by the UK military and the Royal Jordanian Air Force for their F16 and other aircraft. It was showed at the Defexpo 2016 in Goa. fii-news.com
