LNG imports
India’s Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import will reach more than 20 MMTPA by fiscal 2022 with terminals capacity of more than 40 MMTPA, according to a report by Dublin-based Research & Markets.
It noted that LNG import has been growing at Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 8.74%, based on which it has worked out the estimated 2022 imports.
India’s domestic production of natural gas fell by nearly 40% in the last six years while LNG imports surged by more than 65 per cent during fiscal 2011-2016, according to the Research & Markets report “India LNG Market & Import Outlook 2025”. fii-news.com
