Rails for Odisha
Ministry of Railways signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Government of Odisha “For Cost Sharing of Two New Railway Line Projects” in the resource-rich eastern state for further enhancing tourist travels and mineral transportation.
The state government has agreed to partly bear 25 per cent of the total cost of 130-km Jeypore-Malkangiri line and entire land cost and 50 per cent of construction cost of 38-km Jeypore-Nabrangpur.
Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Jeypore-Nabarangpur has been prepared while Jeypore-Malkangiri DRP is under preparation.
Construction of Jeypore-Malkangiri line involves 98 bridges, four tunnels at a total length of 2,600m approximately at location of very deep cuttings.
The Jeypore–Nabarangpur will have 60 bridges.
The Indian Railways is now forming Joint Venture with that State Government for implementing the projects. fii-news.com
