New plants
The Government has approved to revive fertilizer units of the Fertilizer Corporation of India Limited (FCIL)/Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation Limited (HFCL).
The companies are setting up new urea plants, each of 1.27 Million Metric Ton (MMT) per annum, at FCIL’s Talcher, Ramagundam, Gorakhpur and Sindri facilities, and HFCL’s Barauni unit.
Pre-Project activities for these units are currently going on, said Minister of State (MoS) in the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Shipping, Road Transport & Highways Sh. Mansukh L. Mandaviya said on Nov 18, 2016.
The Government has also approved to establish a new 864,600 tpa brownfield Ammonia – Urea Complex in the existing premises of Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited.
These plants will help in bridging the gap between demand and production of fertilizers in the country, he told parliament. fii-news.com
