India-Africa business partnership
Renewable energy, drugs and pharmaceuticals and healthcare are the most promising areas for India-Africa business partnership, said #Nirmala Sitharaman, #Minister of Commerce and Industry.
India has a key role cut out in bolstering Africa’s food security by partnering the region’s efforts to usher in a Green Revolution, she said at the the 12th #CII-EXIM Bank Conclave on India Africa Project Partnership, in New Delhi on 9 March 2017.
#President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the conclave by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Export-Import (Exim) Bank.
The India-Africa bilateral trade has increased from US$51.67 billion in 2010-11 to US$56.69 billion.
#Gen. V K Singh (Retd.), #Minister of State for External Affairs, pointed out that Indian investments in Africa are directed at delivering concrete benefits to the host African countries.
“India is a bright spot for Africa to do business with,” he added.
CII President #Dr Naushad Forbes announced the setting up of a second CII office in Johannesburg. Currently, CII has an office in Cairo. fii-news.com
