Operational efficiency enhanced at loss making plants
Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has called for a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the appointment of Transaction Adviser (TA), a Legal Adviser (LA) and an Asset Valuer (AV) for the strategic disinvestment of three loss-making units.
The Government has accorded “in-principle” approval for strategic disinvestment of Visveswaraya Iron and Steel Plant (VISP), Bhadravati, Salem Steel Plant (SSP), Tamil Nadu and Alloy Steel Plant (ASP), Durgapur, which have been consistently making losses.
The strategic disinvestment would be carried out with the help of a TA, LA and AV.
The three plants capacity has been increased to 21.4 million tonnes per annum from 12.8 Mtpa.
