MoUs for undertaking railway, expressway and housing projects
Malaysian companies are studying participation in India’s infrastructure development, including railway, expressway, housing and technology sectors under Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) signed by CIDB Holdings Sdn Bhd (CIDBH).
The MoUs were signed by Malaysian companies with Indian industry partners during Prime Minister Najib Razak’s six-day visit to India from 30 March 2017.
“The first MOU was signed with Ircon International Ltd. It aims to promote and facilitate the formation of joint-venture companies on railway infrastructure projects and redevelopment of railway stations,” said the Malaysian Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).
It said two MOUs were signed with the National Buildings Construction Corp Ltd and MEP Infrastructure Developers Ltd, respectively, on highway and expressways development projects in India.
Another deal was inked with Jaiprakash Associates Ltd on the development of large infrastructure projects such as highways, expressways, dams, tunnels, urban transport and smart cities.
CIDB and its wholly-owned unit, CIDBH, will also partnered with NSL Infratech Pvt Ltd on housing projects in India.
An MOU was also inked with VA Tech Wabag Ltd on the collaboration of joint projects on research and development, as well as innovation in sustainable water and wastewater’s management and technologies. fii-news.com
