AIIB hopes to deepen cooperation with India
India is central to delivering on the China-backed Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank’s (AIIB) mandate to support the sustainable economic development of Asia through investment in infrastructure.
In view of this, the AIIB looks forward to continuing to work with the Indian Government and India’s business community to further develop solutions to fund vital sustainable infrastructure projects across the country, said Danny Alexander, Vice President, Corporate Secretary, AIIB.
“It is but appropriate that the Annual Meeting is being held in Mumbai, the financial capital of India,” he added.
Following the meet, AIIB hopes to deepen cooperation with India and to develop an approach for moilizing more private sector capital for infrastructure in Asia, he said.
AIIB will be hosting 3rd Annual Meeting of Board of Governors in Mumbai 25-26 June 2018.
Delegates from all 80 AIIB Member countries, business leaders, members of civil society organizations and media among others will attend the meeting.
Theme “Mobilizing Finance for Infrastructure: Innovation and Collaboration”, the pre-annual meeting seminars will be held in some of the main Indian cities such as Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and Vishakhapatnam. fii-news.com
