Master plan for 12 ports prepared
The government has identified 142 port capacity expansion projects in the master plan for implementation over the next 20 years.
Estimated cost of these projects is Rs.91,371 crore for capacity creation of 884 million metric tonne per annum, Minister of State for Shipping, Road Transport & Highways Mansukh L Mandaviya said in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha on 18 Dec 2017.
Master plan for all the 12 major ports have been prepared under the Sagarmala Programme which promotes port-led development. fii-news.com
