Minister wants e-cargo community development
Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu has made it clear that top priority will be accorded to safety and security among aircraft and aviation equipment manufacturers.
He stressed on creating a world class passenger and cargo hub in India but with strong emphasis on safety and security under the Make in India programme.
Prabhu chaired a meeting of airline industry stakeholders, including chairmen and chief executives of airlines, airport directors and others involved in airport operations.
A wide-range of issues like passenger service, security, public-private partnership, infrastructre, air connectivity among others were discussed at the meeeting held in New Delhi on 26 April 2018.
Prabhu said such meetings would be conducted at regular intervals to ensure that the growth in aviation sector industry is as per world standards.
The Public Private Partnership should mean private partnership not only with the Government but with the public at large, said the Minister.
He called for a demand survey of the air-traffic potential from various cities and working towards e-national air cargo community system and e-freight cargo. fii-news.com
