PM stresses need for highway network
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, has laid the Foundation Stone on 14 July 2018 of the 340-km Poorvanchal Expressway in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, saying new industry, and institutions can develop along the Expressway.
Modi said that connectivity is necessary for development of National Highway network and touched on the necessity of initiatives in air connectivity and water connectivity.
Effort is being made on a new economic corridor development in the country.
At Varanasi, Modi laid the foundation stones of projects worth over Rs.900 crore as well as the Varanasi International Convention Centre.
He also inaugurated the Varanasi City Gas Distribution Project, and the Varanasi-Ballia MEMU train.
Among others, foundation stones were laid for the Panchkoshi Parikrama Marg, and several projects under the Smart City Mission and Namaami Gange. fiinews.com
