India Tourism Mart 2018
Railway and Coal Minister Piyush Goyal has wished the Tourism Ministry will achieve its US$100 billion foreign tourist arrival receipts a year within the next five years.
But he also realized the challenges of meeting such targets, especially the large scale infrastructure development to make India a sought-after destination.
Goyal also highlighted the government’s efforts like ensuring 24-hour power supply, promoting renewable energy forms, and improving connectivity by effectively connecting the remotest destinations.
“India with its varied features has tremendous potential and we just need to leverage from it,” said Goyal while inaugurating the ‘first ever’ India Tourism Mart (ITM 2018) on 17 Sept 2018.
The three-day ITM is being held together with Tourism industry stakeholders.
Around 225 stalls have been provided to the sellers to enable them to interact with the buyers. These include pavilion for States & Union Territories to showcase their unique tourism destinations and products. fiinews.com
