Production starts at Dekavada plant
Toyoda Gosei Co Ltd plans to increase its sales volume in India to 35 billion yen by fiscal 2025, more than twice the current level as its Indian subsidiary began production from Gujarat plant.
Kiyosu-based auto part company’s unit, Toyoda Gosei Minda India Pvt Ltd (TGMIN) began operations in October 2018.
The Gujarat Plant will supply airbags, the demand for which is growing with the increasing automobile production and stricter safety regulations in India, plus supply steering wheels, weather strips and other parts to Suzuki Motor Gujarat Pvt Ltd.
“India is a key market for Toyoda Gosei, and the company has been enhancing its development and production network there, including the establishment of a new technical and sales office (Gurugram Office) in a suburb of Delhi in April 2018,” said the company in a statement on 6 Nov 2018.
It has 330 people working in the Dekavada plant in Gujarat producing safety systems such as airbags, steering wheels and weather strips.
Toyoda Gosei Minda India Private Limited, the second and biggest unit, employs 1,583 people also producing airbags, steering wheels and weather strip from headquarters plant at Neemrana in Rajasthan.
