Planning: Rs.30,000 crore solar park
The 9th Vibrant Gujarat Summit opened with commitments to projects worth Rs.55,000 crore investments including a solar park, a copper plant, a cement unit, and a lithium battery manufacturing complex.
Billionaire Gautam Adani announced the investments at the summit opening in Ahmedabad on 18 Jan 2019, following on to a day earlier announcement of a partnership with Germany’s BASF in a Rs.16,000 crore petrochemical complex.
“Over the next 5 years, our investments will include the world’s largest solar hybrid park in Khavda,” said Adani. The park’s investment is about Rs.30,000 crore.
“We also plan to establish a 1 GW Data Center Park in Mundra, a one-million-ton copper smelting and refining project, a cement and clinker manufacturing unit in Lakhpat, an integrated Lithium battery manufacturing complex and expand our Photovoltaic manufacturing capabilities,” he said of the Rs.55,000 crore investments.
Ahmedabad-headquartered Adani Group, a home-grown multinational corporation, has invested over Rs.50,000 crores in the past five years in Gujarat.
