Needed: Liberalization of Indian agri sector
India, Italy and Europe can be important players in promoting new, inclusive and sustainable globalization, Italian Ambassador Vincenzo De Luca said at a Webinar on 30 May 2020.
In his address to FICCI webinar, ‘Discovering Future Opportunities for India-Italy Cooperation post-COVID-19’, the envoy emphasized the need for more international collaboration and sharing of experience in the wake of COVID-19.
The Indian Ambassador to Italy, Reenat Sandhu, elaborated “We have traded with each other for centuries especially in the last 70 years of our diplomatic relations.
“Both countries add great value to this important relationship, and we must continue to do our best together to strengthen this relationship,” underlined the Ambassador at the webinar.
Marta Grande, President, Foreign Affairs Committee, Italian Parliament, stated that economic exchanges are necessary, but an important aspect of the bilateral relations is the scientific cooperation and exchange of researchers, work and experience that bound in a different way.
“Post COVID-19 will open a new chapter in bilateral relations between the two countries,” said Grande.
Sandro Gozi President, Associazione Italia-India, Member of the European Parliament and Member of EU – India delegation, is seeking new ways of liberalisation in the Indian Agriculture sector.
“Both Indian and Italian governments have shown their intention to intensify the current economic engagements, and in my view, it will be interesting to assess the current engagements changing not only in international relations but also connecting companies and doing business,” said Matteo Ribaldi, Secretary-General, Italy-India Association. fiinews.com
