Exports up 7% in six months, says Amb. Vanlalvawna
The bilateral trade between India and Azerbaijan has been growing unhindered despite the global slowdown witnessed by the world, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, with the Indian exports growing by over 7% in the last six months.
Giving an update on the bilateral trade, the Indian ambassador in #Baku, B Vanlalvawna (pictrue above) said the growth in export was a testament to the historic and every-growing relations between the two countries.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the #Virtual #B2B Meet organised by PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 29 July 2020, said he B2B meeting brought together sellers and buyers from both the countries.
The Session was attended by more than 100 representative companies from #India and #Azerbaijan.
PHD Chamber Vice President Pradeep Multani added that the Indian exports included mobile phones, rice, drugs and human vaccines while imports were crude oil, iodine, and other products.
He also highlighted Indian investments in sectors like energy, agriculture, food procession, tourism, ITC, printing, mobile manufacturing and infrastructure.
Sectors like SME, agriculture, food safety, tourism, health and pharma, education, electronics, gems and jewelry, IT are of good interest to Azerbaijan, added Purshottam Bhaggeria, Chairman, Int’l Affairs Committee for Europe & CIS, PHD Chamber.
IT and other engineering services are areas of further collaboration, he said.
India has also emerged as one of the top exporting destination ns for Azerbaijan products with a potential to increase India share in Azerbaijan’s global trade.
Discussions and deliberations held over the virtual B2B meet will act as offshoots in furthering the trade and economic relations the two countries, added Saurabh Sanyal, Secretary-General, PHD Chamber. #exports #trade #commerce #shipment #imports #crudeoil #IT /fiinews.com
