Modi announces increase in economic resources
Innovation has to be encouraged and more technology should be used to provide better opportunities for education and skills, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has told the 6th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog through video conference on 20 Feb 2021.
He stressed “the need for strengthening our businesses”, and underlined importance for a better coordination and policy framework between the Center and the states.
He announced that there would be a major increase in the economic resources of local bodies in the 15th Finance Commission and called for the use of technology.
The recently liberalised geospatial data would help startups and the tech sector and improve the ease of living for the common man.
He pointed out that the private sector is coming forward with enthusiasm in the development journey of the country, and the Government must honour this enthusiasm by ensuring opportunities for the private investors.
The Prime Minister said the Central Government has introduced the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for various sectors, thus providing an excellent opportunity to increase manufacturing in the country.
Focus must be on ease-of-doing business for the international audience and on ease-of-living for our own people, he added.
