NMCG and KMDA award Hybrid Annuity PPP mode project
Maheshtala Waste Water Management Private Limited, an SPV formed by Vishvaraj Environment Private Limited, is to develop a 35 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant for Maheshtala on Hybrid Annuity PPP mode for Rs.273.52 crores.
The company has signed a Concession Agreement on 17 June 2021 with National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) and Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA).
The project aims to take care of the existing sewerage problems in the town and the resultant sewage pollution in the Ganga. On implementation of the project there will be no discharge of untreated sewage from Maheshtala town into River Ganga thereby reducing pollution load in the river.
Maheshtala is situated on the east bank of River Ganga. As per 2011 census, the town has a population of 449,423.
The major components of the project are as follows: STP – 35 MLD, four Pumping Stations, one MPS of 35 MLD, six Diversion Structures, Laying of Rising Mains – 5,989, Repair & rehabilitation of gravity sewer – 1145 m, EPS – 35 MLD and operations and Maintenance for 15 Years. #tenders #projects #investment #water /fiinews.com
