Development options include CNG bottling of high-calorific gas at well-head
Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) is working out various monetization options for the gas from the Vindhyan Basin such as direct marketing to industries in the vicinity, cluster-based gas production through cascade systems, CNG bottling at well-head as the gas is of high calorific value and transportation using available facility.
ONGC is fully geared to consolidate this development of the Vindhyan Basin which is close to becoming the ninth hydrocarbon producing Basin of India.
With belief in prospectivity, the company has already acquired 5 Blocks under OALP rounds on the same Play trend.
The Vindhyan Basin in the Son Valley sector of Madhya Pradesh has been under active exploration since the 1980s.
ONGC has drilled 26 exploratory wells in the Son and Chambal valley sector of the Vindhya Basin in the last 25 years, 14 of which flowed sub-commercial gas.
Finally, continued efforts have now paid off, said the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on 31 Mar 2022. fiinews.com
