Singh sees Germany importing large quantities of green energy
New & Renewable Energy Minister R.K. Singh has invited German companies to participate and compete in manufacturing of high efficiency solar cells and modules as India has planned for 50,000MW solar capacity and 30,000MW of offshore wind capacity.
Noting that Germany will need to import large quantities of green hydrogen and green ammonia for its Energy Transition programs, he invited them to source their requirements from India.
He underlined numerous emerging opportunities in renewable energy sector, and called for German investments in India’s “completely accessible market, facilitative policies and an enabling regulatory ecosystem”.
Singh held a virtual round table meeting on 3 May 2022 with major German energy companies about their expansion in India.
On 2 May, India and German signed a Joint declaration of Intent on Indo-German Hydrogen Task Force to strengthen mutual cooperation in production, utilization, storage and distribution of Green Hydrogen through building enabling frameworks for projects, regulations and standards, trade and joint research and development (R&D) projects. fiinews.com
