35 MMLPs approved for development
30 Multi Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs), to be developed to improve first and last mile connectivity, are at various stages of feasibility studies, Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha on 30 Mar 2023.
Also, detailed Feasibility Report and Pre-Feasibility Report are ongoing on the Visakhapatnam & Vijayawada MMLPs, he said, adding that investment required and capacity planned would be known after the outcome of studies.
Overall, 35 MMLPs approved for development.
The following sites have been approved for MMLPs with planned capacities and required investments:
- Chennai (awarded) 184.27-acre Rs.1,423.50 crore
- Indore (awarded) 255.17-acre Rs.1,111.00 crore
- Bengaluru (Under evaluation) 400.00-acre Rs.1,770.00 crore
- Nagpur (At bidding stage 230.97-acre Rs.920.00
MMLP Jogighopa, Guwahati in Assam is under implementation, he said.
With development of Multi Modal Logistics Parks (MMLPs), improved first and last mile connectivity, launching of E-log and Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP), the logistic efficiency is expected to increase substantially.
Anantapur has emerged as prospective location for development of Multi Modal Logistics Park (MMLP) based on the Pre-Feasibility studies.
Therefore, to assess its potential capacity and investment required, the Detailed Project Study has been taken up. State has identified 206-acre of DKT land in Gondipalli village, Penukonda Mandal in Sathya Sai district.
