Work in progress at DMIC and CBIC
The DPIIT has sanctioned and released funds amounting to Rs.9,899.89 crore for the Industrial Corridor Projects as of 31 July 2023, out of which Rs.9,816.98 crore utilized, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Som Parkash, said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on 11 Aug 2023.
He said that 11 Industrial Corridor Projects are being developed as part of the National Industrial Corridor Programme across the country in a phased manner.
As per the approved institutional and financial structure for the industrial corridors, the Government, through National Industrial Corridor Development & Implementation Trust (NICDIT), provides funds as equity and debt for the development of world-class trunk infrastructure in the industrial nodes and regions under industrial corridors and the States are responsible for making available contiguous and encumbrance free land parcels.
The following 11 industrial corridors are being developed by Government in a phased manner:-
Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC)
Chennai Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (CBIC)
Amritsar Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC)
East Coast Industrial Corridor (ECIC) with Vizag Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC)
Bengaluru Mumbai Industrial Corridor (BMIC)
Extension of CBIC to Kochi via Coimbatore
Hyderabad Nagpur Industrial Corridor (HNIC)
Hyderabad Warangal Industrial Corridor (HWIC)
Hyderabad Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (HBIC)
Odisha Economic Corridor (OEC)
Delhi Nagpur Industrial Corridor (DNIC)
The corridors-wise status and proposed developmental activities of approved projects and Nodes:
DMIC – Implementation of major trunk infrastructure packages completed while land allotment to industries has started for the Vikram Udyogpuri Township in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh and Integrated Industrial Township at Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
DMIC – The Government has approved development under PPP mode for the Multi Modal Logistic Hub (MMLH) and Multi Modal Transport Hub (MMTH) at Greater Noida (UP). It has been taken up for development and implementation.
DMIC – Implementation of major trunk infrastructure packages completed at Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) in Gujarat and Shendra Bidkin Industrial Area (SBIA) in Maharashtra. Land allotment to industries has started.
DMIC – The Government has approved for development under PPP mode at the Integrated Multi Modal Logistics Hub at Nangal Chaudhary in Haryana. Projects have been taken up for development and implementation.
CBIC – Special purpose vehicle (SPV) of the project incorporated and appointment of contractor for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) is taken forward by the SPV at the Industrial Node at Krishnapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
CBIC – SPV of the project incorporated and EPC contractor has been appointed for development of trunk infrastructure works at Industrial Node at Tumakuru in Karnataka. Fiinews.com
