Rs.170cr Tezu linked to three routes – Delhi, Jorahat and Rupsi
Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia has inaugurated the newly developed infrastructure of Tezu Airport in Arunachal Pradesh on 24 Sept 2023, which is designed to operate for ATR 72 type of aircraft on a single runway.
The 212-acre domestic airport costs Rs.170 crore, including the extension of the runway (1500m x 30m) and the construction two aprons of a new apron, a new terminal building and a fire station cum ATC Tower.
The Minister also announced three direct routes from Itanagar under the UDAN 5.0 scheme: Itanagar to Delhi, Itanagar to Jorahat, and Itanagar to Rupsi which will be operationalised soon.
Tezu airport has been operational since 2018.
