Indian-Russian JV in talks for supply of supersonic missiles
With the delivery of BrahMos missiles beginning from March 2024 to the Philippines under a US$374 million contract signed in Jan 2022, the Indian-Russian joint venture missiles are drawing interests for their supersonic missiles from emerging economies and the petro-dollar rich Middle Eastern countries.
“We are discussing supply of Brahmos missiles, and are hopeful that our participation in the Singapore Airshow https://www.singaporeairshow.com/ would lead to more fruitful opportunities,” Praveen Pathak, Director for Market Promotion and Exports at Brahmos said at the mega show held 20-25 Feb 2024.
Brahmos Aerospace https://brahmos.com/ is in talks with a number of Southeast Asian countries for supplying its supersonic missiles which is globally renowned for its success rate, according to Pathak on the potential of increasing supply the supersonic missiles to new markets.

India-friendly https://mod.gov.in/ countries in the Middle East and North African region are also on the list of countries keen on having BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, according to the sources.
