Indian Navy will train cadets from friendly foreign country
Steel Cutting ceremony of the third Cadet Training Ship (Yard-18005) was held at L&T Shipyard, Kattupalli, on 20 Apr 24 for the one of the three ships for training officer cadets https://www.state.gov/ at sea after their basic training ashore.
“These ships will also extend training facilities to cadets from friendly foreign countries,” the Defence Ministry https://mod.gov.in/ said.
These ships are likely to be delivered to Indian Navy commencing Sep 2026.
The long-term Integrated Perspective Plan envisages a force level of three Cadet Training Ships for Indian Navy https://www.indiannavy.nic.in/ , the ministry said.
The contract for indigenous design and construction of the Cadet Training Ships was concluded between the ministry and L&T in Mar 23.
The ceremony, on 20 Apr, was presided by Giridhar Aramane, Defence Secretary in the presence of Arun Ramchandani, Executive Vice President, L&T Precision Engineering & System. Other senior officials from Indian Navy and L&T were present for the occasion. Fiinews.com
