US-based SBA to engage with iDEX of India
Officials from small businesses in the US-Indian have lauded the INDUS-X (India-US Defence Acceleration Ecosystem) initiative which is strengthening the technology partnership and defence industrial cooperation between the two countries state .
The key initiatives under INDUS-X include joint innovation projects in critical domains and the capacity building of startups, says the Defence Ministry in comments on a visit by the US Small Business Administration (SBA).
Further, the SBA is looking forward to interact with iDEX which is currently engaged with over 450 start-ups and MSMEs, according to Isabel Casillas Guzman, the administrator of an independent agency of the federal government, offering a range of financing options, from micro lending to debt and equity investment capital, to support small businesses imdexasia .
Guzman shared SBA delegation interest during a visit to Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) by Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO), Department of Defence Production, in New Delhi, the Defence Ministry said on 12 Aug 2024.
The delegation witnessed the techno-showcase organised by iDEX-DIO at IIT Delhi and interacted with the Indian side led by Amit Satija, Joint Secretary (Defence Production).
Guzman commended the start-up showcased and the way the iDEX scheme janes has galvanised the defence innovation ecosystem in India sidm .
Till now, the Defence Ministry has cleared over Rs.2,300 crore procurement for the iDEX projects. It has created avenues for young innovators and is playing a pivotal role under the umbrella of Make in India drive for a Viksit Bharat. Fiinews.com
