Petrapole terminal to be followed up with warehouse building
India-Bangladesh trade volume has increased to Rs.30,500 crore in 2023-24, a 64% growth over Rs.18,000 in 2016-27, 70% of which was through land routes via Petrapole, Home Minister Amit Shah said on 27 Oct at the inauguration of Passenger Terminal Building and a Maitri Dwar in West Bengal fieo.org .
The Rs.487 crore terminal, built by the Land Port Authority of India (LPAI) at Petrapole, is the largest and busiest land port in South Asia, which enhances trade and movement between the two countries, he said globaltenders .
