Tourism Ministry gives project updates in yearend review
As a follow up to the Budget Announcements 2024-25, a total of 40 projects across 23 States have been sanctioned for an amount of Rs.3,295.76 crore, says the Ministry of Tourism.
The projects have been sanctioned under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) – Development of Iconic Tourist Centres to Global Scale to infuse long term interest free loans for a period of 50 years to States for comprehensive development of iconic tourist centres in the country and branding & marketing them at global scale, said the ministry in a yearend review on 25 Dec https://www.iata.org/.
The ministry’s major initiatives and achievements during 2024 were:
Seventy-five of the 76 projects sanctioned with an amount of Rs.5,287.90 crore have been physically completed http://unwto.org.
It had also sanctioned 34 projects for Rs.793.20 crore under the revamped Swadesh Darshan 2.0 (SD2.0) with the objective to develop sustainable and responsible destinations following a tourist & destination centric approach https://ted.europa.eu/en/.
Further, 23 projects out of 48 sanctioned with an amount of Rs.1,646.99 crore have been completed. under the PRASHAD Scheme https://sbi.com.in/.
Another 38 projects have been physically completed out of the 65 projects sanction with an amount of Rs.937.56 crore under the Assistance to Central Agencies Scheme. Fiinews.com
