PM sets Rs.9lcr target for textile-apparel exporters
India saw a 7% increase in textile and apparel exports last year, reaching Rs.3 lakh crore (lcr), Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the second edition of Bharat Tex 2025.
He has set a target to increase the sector exports to Rs.9 lakh crore by 2030, pointing out that the country now ranks as the sixth-largest exporter of textiles and apparels in the world https://fieo.org/.
“More than 120 countries are participating in the Bharat Tex today (Feb 16),” noted PM Modi, adding that this meant that every exhibitor had the exposure to more than 120 countries, giving them the opportunity to expand their business from local to global.

Bharat Tex 2025 was attended by policymakers and global CEOs, over 5,000 Exhibitors, 6,000 international buyers from over 120 countries among various other visitors.
