Krishnan holds talks with Singapore regulators
State Bank of India (SBI) is integrating its Yono Global App with Singapore’s PayNow and aims to launch it soon in the prosperous city state, saying the successful banking mobile app will also be launched soon in the United States.
‘Yono Global’ will offer digitalized remittance and other services to its customers in Singapore and the United States, says Vidya Krishnan, Deputy MD (IT).
“We are continuing to invest in Yono Global to offer the best services available as we want to give superior experience to our customers,” Press Trust of India quoted Krishnan as saying at the Singapore Fintech Festival (SFF), a conference and exhibition that gathered 650 global companies showcasing technologies during 15-17 Nov 2023.
Krishnan has held talks with Singapore-based digital platform enablers as well as the local regulator and central bank, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
“We are constantly working on the remittance story between India and Singapore, given the large number of Indian diasporas in the city state.”
Currently, SBI offers Yono Global services in 9 countries, starting with United Kingdom operations in September 2019. SBI’s foreign operations have a total balance sheet size of US$78 billion. Fiinews.com
