Indian EPC expertise for Saudi plant

Nuberg officials with Saudi partners at contract signing on 31 July 2018.

Noida-based Nuberg EPC has secured a US$53 million turnkey project contract from Saudi Arabia’s Middle East Chemicals Company Ltd (Midchem).

The exclusive agreement covers Engineering, Procurement and Construction and Lump Sum Turn Key services and solutions for chlor alkali plant and calcium chloride plant in Riyadh.

It will be executed for Saudi Factory for Chlorine and Alkalies (SACHLO), Midchem’s group company.

The production capacity will be 60 ton per day (TPD) for chlor alkali plant which is an expansion of its previous plant of 60 TPD making it a total of 120 TPD, and 150 TPD for calcium chloride plant.

The chemical project is Midchem’s second alliance with Nuberg EPC after successful commissioning of its 60 TPD greenfield chlor alkali plant designed and delivered for SACHLO in 2012.

Nuberg EPC’s scope of services for this project includes process, technology know-how, basic and detailed engineering, design, procurement, manufacture and supply of plant equipment including complete erection, construction, project management, commissioning and start-up of the plant.

The chlor alkali plant will deploy bipolar membrane cell technology provided by Inovyn (erstwhile INEOS technologies), technology licensor for the expansion plant.

The agreement was penned down in MidChem’s office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where AK Tyagi, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), Nuberg, Dr. Ibrahim Bin Aldubabe, President, Middle East Chemicals Lt. and dignitaries from both companies were present. fiinews.com
