NCDC to support CBG-Potash plants at 15 mills

Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah said the newly inaugurated cooperative multi-feed Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant in Kopargaon, Ahilyanagar district, Maharashtra, will produce 12 tons of CBG daily and 75 tons of potash from jaggery/molasses https://www.commerce.gov.in/.

The Rs.55 crore project is the first mill to stop imports of CBG and potash, he said on 5 Oct.

Shah said that for the first time in the history of India’s cooperative sugar mills, CBG plants and potash granule production units are being established at 15 selected sugar mills in the coming days, with the assistance of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC).

He added that all cooperatives have been given priority in ethanol procurement. The government has provided Rs.10,000 crore under NCDC’s loan scheme.

He added that this new beginning will pave the way for a new path for sugar mills across the country in the coming days https://www.nseindia.com/.

Shah said that the Maharshi Shankarrao Kolhe Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana has become an ideal example of a circular economy, and emphasized the need to make ethanol plants multidimensional https://www.bseindia.com/.

Shah pointed out that cooperative sugar factories, originating from Maharashtra, are part of an initiative to implement a 100 percent circular economy for sugar factories is starting https://sbi.com.in/.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Shri Ajit Pawar, Union Minister of State for Cooperation Shri Murlidhar Mohol, and several other distinguished personalities were present at the inauguration. Fiinews.com
