Sawant wants to develop 500 MSME champion exporters by 2037

Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has invited investors to explore the growing economic opportunities in Goa, assuring them of government support through investment-friendly policies and simplified processes.

Addressing the “Vibrant Goa Global Business Summit 2026”, he highlighted the ease of doing business in Goa, the state’s logistics and warehousing policy and upcoming electronics manufacturing cluster.

Sawant also reiterated his government’s commitment to MSMEs and highlighted the Mukhyamantri Export Incentive Scheme, aimed at supporting enterprises from their first export shipment.

Goa is to develop 500 MSME champion exporters by 2037 and expressed support for a proposed Defence Conclave in the state.

“We aim to make Goa a global hub for trade and investment, semiconductors, electronics, green energy, the blue economy and sustainable tourism. I invite all investors, entrepreneurs and industry leaders to partner with Goa in this journey. Goa is open for business, innovation and global partnerships,” said CM Sawant.

Sawant said, “Vibrant Goa is a platform to position Goa as a global destination for business, innovation, entrepreneurship and investment. From the 2019 edition to Vibrant Goa 2024, the summit has created opportunities for business partnerships and international collaboration.”

Product crossed Rs.1.12 lakh crore in 2024-25, supported by investments in airports, roads, water supply and other infrastructure. The state’s industrial policies and Goa Startup Policy 2025 aim to attract investment, generate employment and encourage innovation.

During the summit, held 29-31 Oct, the Goa Investment Promotion Board signed nine Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth approximately Rs.8,600 crore across sectors including artificial intelligence, data centres, technology, hospitality, energy, logistics and healthcare. These investments are expected to generate around 5,000 employment opportunities. Fiinews.com

The summit brought together business leaders, policymakers, industry representatives and international delegates to promote Goa as a global destination for business, innovation, entrepreneurship and investment.

An MoU involving the BRICS-ASEAN Chamber of Commerce, the BRICS-ASEAN Independent Commission for Trade and Economy and Vibrant Goa Foundation were key features at the summit. Fiinews.com
