Construction planned for 148.17-km four Suburban Rail Corridors
The Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited (KRIDE), a Joint Venture company set up by Ministry of Railways with Government of Karnataka as a special purpose vehicle, will implement Rs.15,767 crore Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project Project (BSRP).
To be completed in six years, the project envisages construction of four Suburban Rail Corridors of 148.17-km. The Government had approved the Ministry of Railways’ BSRP proposal for construction in October 2020.
The project envisions creation of a dedicated and seamless Suburban Railway system in Bangalore city, linking in a seamless fashion. By providing rapid connectivity to Bangalore International Airport, IT Hubs and the Commercial centres, the rail-based network will boost productivity and growth by reducing commuting time, said the Railway Ministry on 11 Jan 2021 following a project review by Minister Piyush Goyal.
It will integrate multiple modes of transport like the Metro, Railways and bus transport by constructing interchange hubs. This will ensure smooth and seamless mode of transport to lakhs of daily commuters. #tenders #project #infrastructure #construction /fiinews.com
