Centre to employ 2,000, says Pradhan
Petroleum major BP has announced a major new centre for its global business services (GBS) operations in Pune which is expected to begin operations in January 2021 to provide business processing and advanced analytics capabilities in support of its businesses worldwide.
The new centre, to employ 2,000 people, will assume operational ownership of third-party business processes and seek to further extend its work with analytics and data science capabilities to pursue better business outcomes, said Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry on 18 June 2020.
The new centre will allow BP to tap into India’s growing market with growing digital talent pool. It will lead to BP’s development and application of cutting-edge digital solutions.
Welcoming the centre at Pune, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said, “The new centre once operational will create opportunities for the growing local digital talent pool and will employ 2,000 people to support its global businesses.” fiinews.com
