Petchem plant to produce LLDP and HDPE
Bina Refinery of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has received approval for its Rs.43,000 crore-Rs.50,000 crore expansion and for setting up of a petrochemical plant.
The Madhya Pradesh Investment Promotion Committee, headed by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, gave the approval on 11 Apr 2023.
Downstream product output from the expansion and new plant is expected to start by 2027-28, according to media reports.
The range of products from expansion and plant will include gasoline, diesel, aviation turbine fuel, jet fuel, Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDP), High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), bitumen, benzene.
The BPCL Bina Refinery became a become wholly owned subsidiary of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited in 2021.
Originally, it was incorporated as a Joint Venture between Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and OQ SAOC (formerly known as Oman Oil Company SAOC) in the year 1994 to set up central India refinery under a bilateral agreement. fiinews.com
