Tata group has a long history of engagement with South East Asia and its companies are making steady progress in line with the region’s aspirations and interest growth prospects.
The group with more than 30 operating companies in the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) was felicitated with an award recognising its role in the regional economies.
“The Tata group has a long history of engagement with South East Asia and operates in several sectors of the ASEAN economies – technology, trade, services manufacturing, automotive and financial services, etc.,” said K.V. Rao, Resident Director, ASEAN, on receiving the award.
“Tata companies’ contributions to the communities and sustainability helped them achieve overall business excellence.
Tata companies in ASEAN are making steady progress in line with the region’s aspirations and interesting growth prospects,” Rao said.
The ASEAN-India Achievement and Excellence Award by the ASEAN India Business Council (AIBC) was received by Rao on behalf of the Tata group from Ong Ka Chuan, Second Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia, in a ceremony held at Kuala Lumpur early June.
Tata operates in ASEAN, with Singapore as the nodal centre, in steel, power, motors and commercial vehicles. Tata Consultancy Services has offices across ASEAN and operates a large BPO in the Philippines.
